# What to do if you receive a payment reminder from Swapfiets
## If your direct debit fails, we will send you a payment reminder so you can clear your balance and avoid extra costs.
### **How to pay your balance**
You can complete your payment in two easy ways:
1. **In the Swapfiets app:** [Open the app](https://help.swapfiets.com/download-the-app?hsLang=en) and tap the payment link on your main dashboard.
2. **Via email:** Open the payment reminder email we sent you and tap **Pay now**.
### **Important: Pay before the deadline**
Please pay your balance as soon as possible and before the deadline mentioned in your payment reminder. Paying on time ensures you avoid extra charges on your account.
