Who pays for extra costs and add-ons?

Repairs are included, but things like a lost key or a missing bike are charged separately. You choose whether those go to you or your employee.

You'll find every amount in our overview of extra costs (Appendix III), which covers each bike model and each situation. Here we'll stick to the part that's specific to a business account: who gets billed.

Extra costs: you choose

When you sign your framework agreement, you decide whether extra costs come to you or go to your employee.

  • If you cover them, they arrive on a separate surcharge invoice, sent on the same monthly rhythm as your subscription invoice.

  • If you don't, we charge your employee directly using the payment details they gave us, and you never see them.

Add-ons always come to you

Add-ons like Full Theft Coverage or a basket are optional but always part of the subscription rather than an extra cost. That means they're always invoiced to you, on a separate line of your monthly invoice, and unlike extra costs they can't be split with your employee.

Full Theft Coverage starts at €3.90 a month for pedal bikes and €9.90 for e-Bikes. More about Full Theft Coverage.

If your employees pay their own extra costs, consider theft coverage

This is the combination worth thinking about. If you've left extra costs with your employee, a stolen bike could mean a bill of a few hundred euros landing on someone who wasn't expecting it.

Full Theft Coverage removes that. The missing bike surcharge drops to €0 on a properly locked bike, and you're paying a few euros a month instead. Since the add-on is invoiced to you anyway, it's a straightforward way to offer the flexibility of employee-paid extra costs without the risk sitting on one person.

Always double-lock the bike. The surcharge is far lower for a locked bike than an unlocked one, and theft coverage only applies if it was locked.
