How to sign up a minor for a Swapfiets subscription
Yes, you can get a Swapfiets subscription for your child under 18! You can subscribe to either a pedal bike or an E-bike for your child to use.
Parent or guardian registration requirements
To set up a subscription for a minor:
- Register in your name: A parent or guardian must sign up for the Swapfiets subscription using their own details.
- Lend the bike: Once registered, you can lend the pedal bike or E-bike to your child to ride.
When a parent or guardian must attend appointments
As the adult account holder, we need you to be present with a valid photo ID for a quick check at these specific appointments:
- The first appointment: When you pick up or receive the bike for the first time.
- Any bike type change: Any appointment where you switch to a different bike model (e.g., swapping from a pedal bike to an E-bike)
Note for routine visits: For all other appointments—like repairs or direct swaps for the exact same bike model—your child can attend on their own!
