Closing a number of our cities was a decision that was not taken lightly, and it breaks our hearts to have to say goodbye.
Our mission to make cities more liveable is centered on providing high quality, sustainable biking solutions for members. Unfortunately, this mission is unachievable in areas with low demand and few members, as it means we are unable to provide epic service in a viable manner for our business.
Therefore we are closing the following cities:
- Lyon
- Strasbourg
- Toulouse
- Karlsruhe
- Heidelberg / Mannheim
- Stuttgart
- Milan
We ask you to return your bike before the 31st of March.
To make things as easy as possible, we already added an end date for you and we will waive the one month cancellation period, you will only be charged for the days that you are using the bike in March.

You can use your bike until the 31st of March. You can make an appointment to hand in your bike through the Swapfiets app, download the app here:

How do I return my bike?
You can come by our store during opening hours to hand in your bike. Please keep in mind that it can be a bit busier than usual as this is a big operation, we will help you as efficiently as possible.

What happens if I still have my bike after the 31st of March?
If you are still in possession of your Swapfiets bike after 31-03-23, we will cancel your subscription and will have to charge you the full value of the bike. So we urge you to hand in the bike in time.
