What happens when I receive my bike, and what do I need to bring?
After you have signed up and made an appointment, it's time to receive your bike! Haven't signed up yet? Please take a look at this article first.
During the sign-up you had the possibility to select whether you want a fast pickup at our Swapstore or a free at-home delivery.
What do I need to receive the bike?
You will need to show the following during your first appointment:
- Identification (passport, driver's license, identity card)*
- Your credit card or bank card.
- Proof of living address
- If you applied for a student subscription, we will also ask to see your student card
*In Belgium, we only accept Belgian IDs, resident cards, Belgian driving licenses, and European passports valid for more than 6 months.
Not accepted are : Non-EU IDs, short-term resident permits, and Orange Cards.
What happens at the first appointment?
Your appointment will take no longer than 15 minutes. We will check your details, provide information about your Swapfiets subscription, and ensure that your saddle and handlebar are at the right height and position for you. We are also happy to answer any questions you might have.
Can someone else pick- up my bike?
For signing the terms and conditions and authorising the direct debit, we need to see you in person for the first appointment. Therefore, it's not possible for someone else to pick up your bike. If someone else is paying for your subscription, they need to be present at the First Delivery.
Note: you will start paying for your bike once you have received it, so don't worry if there are a few days between signing up and receiving the bike.
