Cancelling your subscription and returning your Swapfiets bike
How to book your store drop-off appointment via the app
Follow these steps in chronological order to end your subscription and hand over your bike:
- Cancel your subscription: Open the Swapfiets app, navigate to your account settings, and submit your cancellation request.
- Book your drop-off time: Follow the in-app instructions to schedule an appointment at your preferred drop-off location. You can view all available branches using our Swapfiets store finder.
- Drop off your bike: Bring your bike, key, and any provided accessories to the selected store during your scheduled appointment window.
Please note: we do not collect the bike during the termination process. You will need to schedule an appointment to return it yourself via our store once your subscription has ended.
Deadlines, billing rules, and your one-month notice period
All Swapfiets memberships are subject to a standard one-month notice period. Your subscription officially ends exactly one month from the day you submit your cancellation in the app.
Important Return Policy: You must drop off your bike on or before the final end date of your subscription. If the bike is not returned before this date, your subscription will remain active, and regular monthly billing will continue.

Returning your bike if you have moved to another city
If you have moved to a different city during your subscription, you do not need to travel back to your original city to return the bike.
Contact our support team before booking your appointment so we can update your regional account details and route you to the correct local store. Once updated, you can schedule your drop-off at the nearest participating Swapfiets location.
We will service the bike and make sure it goes on to the next rider. Thank you for riding with Swapfiets!
