Who is responsible for your Swapfiets bike?
As a Swapfiets member, you are responsible for using your bike correctly and keeping it safe. We have you covered for most standard wear, tear, and maintenance, but we will ask you to pay a surcharge if your bike suffers excessive damage or goes missing.
What you are responsible for
We want you to treat your Swapfiets bike as if it were your own. You are responsible for:
- Parking your bike correctly and locking it securely.
- Riding safely and following local traffic rules.
- Covering any costs caused by misuse or improper handling.
What your membership covers
Your monthly membership covers routine maintenance and standard wear and tear. You usually won't pay anything extra for standard repairs or replacing parts that wear out from normal use.
When you will need to pay a surcharge
You will only need to pay extra if:
- Your bike has excessive damage beyond regular wear and tear.
- Your bike or battery is lost or stolen.
- Replacement key.
